Michael Magalon

Michael Magalon (born August 24, 1975) is a Belgian Jazz bassist, guitarist and composer who currently resides in England.
==Biography==
Magalon started playing classical guitar at 12. At 18, he composed the music for a play called ‘Couleur de Femmes’ by Jacques Henrard adapted by (Marc Gooris )〔(Historique )〕(1993).
After gaining experience with a number of bands Magalon studied at the (Jazz Studio )〔(Jazz Studio )〕〔(Claude Nobs, personnalité de l’année au Midem 2007 - GL Connection, le blog de Gildas Lefeuvre )〕 in Antwerp.
Later on, he started to play the bass influenced by the modern jazz band Aka Moon and the bassist Michel Hatzigeorgiou.
Along his career, Michael Magalon has seen himself playing with some leading (Belgian jazz ) musicians such as Jeroen Van Herzeele, (Bart Defoort ),〔(Artiste Bart Defoort - Igloo Records )〕 (Stephane Mercier ),〔(Stephane Mercier official site )〕 (Dominic Ntoumos ),〔(Ntoumos )〕〔(Ntoumos "Transition" - CD Release à la Fnac : Jazzques )〕 and some musicians from the rock and funk scene like Rudy Lenners (Scorpions), Rudy Trouvé (dEUS, Kiss My Jazz, Dead Man Ray), Nick Van Gelder (Jamiroquai, Brand New Heavies).
In 2007, Magalon performed at the (MIDEM )〔(Midem 2007 Les temps forts Musique Classique et Jazz )〕 of Cannes in France with his drumless trio (featuring (Stephane Mercier )〔 on sax and (Georges Hermans )〔(Trio0FRjaune.pub )〕 on piano)
In 2008 Magalon decided to take a break from playing professionally, only to experiment with the other side of music, working as manager for one of the most dedicated rock and alternative clubs/venues of South East England (the Engine Room Club). He welcomed bands like The Germs, Hed PE, The Addicts, inMe, Discharge, Acid Mother Temple, Death Angel and other well-known bands.
Having explored new horizons, and re-organized the various elements in his career, Magalon is ready to strike back with a new album due on February 2011.
